In the early years, a transgender girl knows that she’s a girl inside, in her brain, in how she thinks and acts. She doesn’t act like a boy, she doesn’t think like a boy, and doesn’t want to be a boy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long to learn that she must keep this a deep secret, for if her secret is discovered, terrible things can and do happen. Of course, sometimes you can’t hide the girl inside, and sometimes, the hiding and lies are far worse than the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rex must go to great lengths to protect his secret that he is a girl inside. It\u2019s bad enough that he is too \u201cgirly,\u201d and the boys think he\u2019s a \u201csissy.\u201d He gets bullied regularly and violently.
